Norlock Integrated Controlled Environment.

Integrated Controlled Environment means unsurpassed product quality while at the same time providing a cost effective system. The N.I.C.E computer control system is able to accurately calculate the deviation from a temperature set point and select just enough compressor capacity to recover without excess electrical consumption. Through proper programming the computer can determine which size of fan motor, brine pump, compressor or humidity system will be the most efficient for the present weather conditions and facility usage.

Computer programs can write graphs and trend logs of temperature, motor status, pressure, humidity, air quality, electrical consumption and run times. Trend logs can accurately track the operating requirements ensuring quality for both your business and your customers specific needs.

Whether it is your HVAC system, process control equipment, or your ice , we will maintain the precise temperature you require. Computer controls monitor and control your complete system ensuring optimal temperature, humidity and air quality.

Norlock is a Reliable Controls Authorized Dealer, a BCBC {British Columbia Buildings Corporation} approved direct digital system. Reliable Controls products come with an unsurpassed five year warranty. All aspects of building operations are controllable for example: temperature set back, lighting control and security just to name a few. With the ability to be monitored from a convenient location with a PC connection either locally, by phone or Internet Norlock is able to trouble shoot and help with its customers service needs.

Graphics Interface

Norlock has developed a Computer Controlled Refrigeration Graphics program to work in conjunction with Reliable Controls. The graphics are embedded in a windows based program that allow a graphic representation of the refrigeration system and equipment. It provides a detailed, simple to understand pictorial representation of system controls with appropriate animation and displays. The PC based control interface is actually separate from the Central Controller guaranteeing any disruptions to the PC will not affect control of the Environmental Control System. This graphic display is easy to follow and understand, click on an image and all pertinent information about the associated component is displayed. Norlock will custom build a graphic operating system for each application ensuring easy operation and familiarity amongst maintenance staff members.

Imagine how easy it would be to operate a buildings HVAC system from any where when each room is clearly displayed on screen. Simply click the graphic representing a particular room and adjust the temperature and lights, or preset the thermostat to heat the room an hour before it is occupied. With the use of a modem, or Internet Norlock can monitor and help troubleshoot their customer's facilities and advise on their service needs. Historical data can be retrieved from trend logs to track all computer controlled operations for detailed analysis. With a computer system monitoring your plant or complex 24 hours a day, your facility will be better prepared to meet new requirements being introduced by Boiler and Pressure Branch Safety Programs for risk assessment and other Liabilities which are forever changing.

Energy Savings & Advanced Control

Lower energy costs can be achieved by centralizing a complex's heating, cooling and lighting systems with time management programming; take advantage of discounted power during off peak hours.

Energy savings in an Ice Arena can be obtained by raising the temperature of the ice during unoccupied hours. This same technique can also be used for achieving specific ice conditions optimal for the different requirements such as hockey versus figure skating.

Advanced Control

Highly Accurate Infrared Sensors can be installed in any controlled environment. The use of multiple sensors allows the Refrigeration or Heating system to monitor and respond to temperature deviations in as many different areas in a room. Drafts and hot spots would be revealed upon review of the computer records, aiding in fine tuning a system.

A Motor Control Center (mcc)
Centralizes all motor starters in one location. Having the entire ice plant DDC (direct digital control) system connected in one location offers simplicity of expansion or quick repairs as well provides space saving.

The easy incorporation of DDC automation is a major consideration; many systems are totally automated using building DDC systems and industrial computers. This automation equipment can be incorporated into an MCC as part of the structure. Or, the entire MCC can be controlled and monitored by one twisted pair of wires running to the MCC in lieu of several sets of wires running to individual wall mounted components.

An obvious benefit of grouping all controls in one location is the convenience to visually monitor what is happening rather then having to search for a problem on different walls.
